"God Bless America" // July 4 // The raised beds // Around the house
This week I was putting up bunting around the flag on our front porch and dropped one of the strings onto the sidewalk. When I went down to get it there was a girl standing at our front gate, very friendly, and she said hello. I said good morning to her and went back up the stairs to tie up the bunting on the porch rail.
Then I heard somebody say "Can you say it?" and the girl recited the pledge of allegiance. When she finished I looked at her and the older woman with her and thanked them. The older woman said "We do that everyday when we walk by here." I smiled and thanked them again and wished them a good day.
Nice to know that patriotism lives! I think George's "God Bless America" sign, which he made and put up in 2014, had many admirers over the year.
