New fence sections, July 19, 2018

Fence sections along both sides of the property have given out over the years. The two sections replaced this year opened a gap that showed how much higher the neighbor's yard is than ours, and also gave us a chance to look at a growing area we have seldom worked on, except to replace some pachysandra around one of the planters.

Sections along the east side (as I think of it, really southeast) were done after November 15, 2016 (date of picture below) and were in place by Nov. 22, 2017.

A section farther back was already replaced by this date.

The west side before the new work (above), a green wall, lilies not yet blooming

Below: George pulled down the vines covering the fence on our side.

Out with the old

The old sections, with the new ones along the back garden visible behind them. They were replaced in 2017.

Once the old sections were gone, we could see across into the next yard and see how high the land there was
The root mass and dirt (above, right) measured 1 foot from our deck up.

Wrapping up, 9.30 a.m.-1.30 p.m.
Amazingly, no lilies were stepped on or knocked over

First to last, Family Fences did an excellent job

Time for our clean-up crew to move in

The new look (we tied up that leaning lily).
