Prairie School Architecture in Wilmette
Wilmette Historical Society's July 2015 tour
A star on Lake Street, strong horizontal lines, natural materials (redstone pillars), feels close to the earth.

A downer: a great Queen Anne-style house from about 1890, seemingly in good condition (note foundation), being demolished.
One of many "American Foursquare" houses, a common design (4 rooms on each floor).
Once in the center of a 5-lot plot; this is the back, which still adjoins an open lot. The front (right) is a lost cause, alas. Landscaping is nil.
