Portrait of Maquoketa and The Storytelling Tree, Figge Museum in Davenport.

Chuck Morris's "storytelling" project is now a book. The Figge is showing his drawings along with Rose Frantzen's
"Portrait of Maquoketa," which we first saw at the Figge in 2012. You can see more at Old City Hall Press

The view from the 7th floor of the Blackhawk Hotel

En route to the Figge Museum on a sunny Friday aftenroon

And on the way back that evening

At the Figge

A fine collection of American art, including a scrapbook with drawings for
the war memorial that Grant Wood did for Cedar Rapids around 1930.

The Mississippi, as seen from the car, on the way back, looking very high.

The trip is just under 200 miles and takes about 3 hours.

The Blackhawk has a striking fountain in the parking lot

The cornfields would have looked better with better light.

Great sky.
