2004 St. Louis pictures

ST. LOUIS · June 20-22, 2008
We were here to see two productions at the St. Louis Opera Theater of St. Louis, "Tales of Hoffman" and "Troilus and Cressida" (Walton), both on June 21, 2008.

The Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery
This is the 5th-busiest of the national cemeteries; George's brother William is buried here (d.1982).

Oak Hill Cemetery, where George's parents are buried.

A fine stand of yucca along Big Bend en route to the opera.

Around the Soulard Market

Trinity Lutheran Church & School (founded 1839). Hollyhocks surround the parking lot acrossfrom the church.

A fine old building, seemingly perfectproportions; looking at it makes me want to write.

In & around the market.
We liked the company of these shoppers outside the market; obviously they have iron constitutions and they must stick to their diets.
